Help - Exam Item Analyzer
What is Item Analysis?
Item analysis is a statistical technique used to evaluate the quality of multiple-choice test questions.
It helps identify questions that might be too easy, too difficult, or not effectively discriminating
between high and low performing students.
Key Metrics
Difficulty Index (p-value):
The proportion of students who answered the question correctly. Range: 0 (very hard) to 1 (very easy)
Discrimination Index:
Measures how well a question differentiates between high and low performers. Range: -1.0 to +1.0
Point-Biserial Correlation:
Correlation between answering the question correctly and total test score
Distractor Analysis:
Evaluates how attractive each wrong option is to students
